The Hora Nirkoda

The Hora Nirkoda was choreographed by Ashriel Yoahv.

Each numbered step takes four beats of music.

Part A

  1. (facing inward) {holding hands} Mayim L (starting with R foot crossing in front of left foot)
  2. (facing inward) {holding hands} Mayim L (starting with R foot crossing in front of left foot)
  3. (facing inward) {holding hands, raising them} Step inward with R, squat slightly on R with left foot behind you off the ground, step inward with L, squat slightly on L with right foot behind you off the ground
  4. (facing inward) {holding hands, lowering them} Step back out of the circle R-L-R-L
         [repeat]

Part B

  1. (facing RLOD) {holding hands} Leap forward onto R foot, step with L foot, leap forward onto R foot, step with L foot
  2. {hands raised to head height} Four-count turn over right shoulder (spin 360 degrees, clockwise as seen from above, R-L-R-L)
  3. (facing RLOD) {hands held high, hands sway and snap at each sway} Sway R, pause, sway L, pause
  4. (facing RLOD) Step in place R-L-R-L starting with arms and upper body bent low and straightening up slightly with each step (we have arms make circles coming up crossed in front of torso and then out to each side, ending with holding hands in preparation for the next step of the dance)
