Nirkodita

Please let me know more about this dance! I do not know its choreographer. I have nicknamed it "Nirkodita" because it appears to be a simplified version of the Hora Nirkoda, designed for faster music. But I am not sure this guess is accurate history.

Each numbered step takes four beats of music.

  1. (facing inward) {hands at about head height, palm-to-palm with neighbors} Hop to the right with R foot, bring L foot together, hop to the right with R foot, bring L foot together
  2. Four-count turn over the right shoulder
  3. (facing inward) Lean R and snap with hands held up and to the right, pause, lean L and snap with hands held up and to the left, pause
  4. (facing inward) Stand in place and clap four times: the first clap is about knee height, then raise yourself so the fourth clap is at head height
