These are gluten free but taste like the ones my mother made.
Sift and then set aside:
For about 5 minutes cream:
Then beat in:
Then mix in:
Then thoroughly mix in the sifted flours.
Refrigerate for a few hours or overnight, in an airtight container so the dough does not pick up the taste of other food.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Roll out to about 4 or 5 mm thickness. Cut into shapes. If no icing will ber used, add colored sugar or sprinkles.
Bake for 10 minutes, until light golden.
If plain so far then decorate with icing, or perhaps sprinkles on icing.
